Building a Better Future—Together

Our final day in Zakarpattia brought together government leaders, healthcare providers, and supporters to discuss the future of prosthetic and rehabilitation care in Ukraine.

Government and Donor Support

In a special meeting at TCRH, the Governor of Zakarpattia, Myroslav Biletskyi, publicly voiced his support for our project. Direct Aid, one of our major partners, was so impressed by our progress that they pledged an additional $250,000 to further enhance medical facilities in the region.

Facing Challenges Head-On

We’re proud of what’s been accomplished, but there’s still work to do:

Fair Pay for Physiotherapists: These skilled professionals are underpaid despite their critical role. We’re exploring ways to secure better funding.

Training: Hands-on instruction by experienced prosthetists and ongoing education for physiotherapists are top priorities.

Supply Chain: Procuring prosthetic components remains a challenge, but we’re developing partnerships to ensure a steady supply.

Expanding 3D Printing: We’re exploring new uses for our 3D printers, including orthotics and external fixations, to help even more patients.

Government Engagement: We’re preparing for upcoming visits from Ministry of Health officials to showcase our progress and secure nationwide support.

A Personal Touch

We were also visited by Maksym and Maryana Semenenko, a family we’ve supported. Maksym received extra padding for his prosthesis, but more adjustments are needed—a reminder that our work is always about real people and real lives.

Together, we are building a future where everyone—no matter their circumstances—can walk, run, and live with dignity. Thank you for being part of our journey.
